Traffic is the lifeblood of your internet marketing business. You can have the best information product created after rigorous research for months, if you do not drive traffic from your targeted niche to visit your website there will be no sale and hence no profits. But just how exactly are you going to do that without burning a hole in your pockets before the first dollar rolls in?
Fret not. There are free methods of driving traffic – all it takes is some basic training, lots of discipline and patience. Free they may be however these have been time proven methods used by some of the most successful internet marketing experts I know. In fact some of them never resort to paying for traffic. Why should they if there are better ways that cost them nothing! I am going to teach you of them so sit tight.
Online Forums
Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the demographics that you are looking for – the right traffic! You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.
With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and trust with the people who are most likely to buy from you.
Newsletters
You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and the many interesting and entertaining articles. Make them really fun and useful to read and more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to their friends. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be who go to your site which needless to say only drives up your traffic.
Link-Swap
Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You do not have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster to exchange links - the efforts will be mutually beneficial. Traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link and visit your site as well. This works especially well when both sites feature the same niche.
Articles
This is my favourite method and one of the most powerful traffic generation techniques I would say, unfortunately it could also be the most laborious. Simply write articles that could pique the attention of people who have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide useful tips and guides. Take a long haul view; do not be afraid to share the information freely. If they find what you are offering in the articles useful and valuable, you can almost bet that they will click on the link you provide right at the end and pop over to your site to see what other useful information you have to offer.
Yes I know the thought of writing a 300-word article can be daunting. But then again there is no free lunch when it comes to traffic generation on the internet, or any good things in life for that matter. Here’s a tip - try getting over with 10 articles in a month that will average about 2 per week. Once you achieve that, you could then set your next target for 100 articles.
With your completed articles, many sites offer free submission and posting for you. For a start try Submityourarticle.com or Ezinearticles.com. Be sure to include a link or a brief description of your company at the end of the article. As internet marketers, you need to expose yourself at every opportunity. Within a month or so you could almost certainly see some results as web publishers start to post your articles on their information websites all over the internet, providing links back to you which again drives up your ranking on the search engines.
Good Content
Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that content should be done by a professional copywriter writer. You could do your own content but you have to make it entertaining as well as informational.
Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword search in their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without pay-per-click costs. These are 5 free and powerful methods for driving traffic for your internet marketing business, but they are certainly non-exhaustive. However start with them first, put in that extra bit of effort and go up the learning curve quickly and be extremely good in one or two of the methods. You will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.
