YES - There really is a way to get free targeted traffic, and it doesn't involve as much effort as you may believe.
NOTE: If you are unwilling to invest a little time into promoting your business, then please stop reading this now. You will not benefit from this article as it is aimed at the more serious entrepreneurs.
You may have a fantastic product or service, you may have the most amazing looking web site, but if you want to make money ........... you need exposure. There are millions of sites, so how do you attract visitors to yours?
You could use Pay Per Click advertising, but if you are inexperienced with this you could end up losing out. PPC Advertising can definately work for you, but you will be extremely lucky to get it right first time.
The top method for getting free targeted traffic is here, right in front of your eyes. You are reading an article that I have submitted to an article directory. How much did it cost me to submit this article? Nothing, not one penny.
When I first started marketing online, I came across these article directories all the time, but I couldn't work out why people would waste their valuable time and effort in writing an article only to give it away for free. Surely these people were looking to make money online? One day, I finally realised. I was reading an excellent article on Affiliate Marketing and found myself visiting the author's website once I got to the end. Of course! At the bottom of every article was a small resource box that contained information on the author along with a link to his/her website. When somebody reads an article that they enjoy, they are likely to visit the author's site for more information.
Now, of course, if you submit one article to a single directory then you'll be lucky to get a few visitors. You need to be constantly submitting articles to A LOT of directories (the more the better). This will result in thousands of visitors that are arriving at your site looking for more information. These visitors will be highly targeted as they have already read your article and enjoyed it, therefore you have already broken the first barrier - trust. If you are selling any product or service online, then you absolutely have to be utilizing the power of article writing.
It sounds so scary to many people, but writing articles is not that difficult. If you do not have enough knowledge of your chosen subject, then research thoroughly before writing. Your articles do not have to be very long but have to contain at least some useful information if you want anybody to visit your site.
How do you fit your articles into your marketing campaign?
If you are promoting a new product or service then submit articles to all major directories on the day that your website is launched. Make sure that you're articles are full of content that is directly related to your product or service and include your URL in your resource box. The following day, submit a new article to the directories and keep doing the same until you have reached your desired number of customers and/or subscribers. The result will be thousands of highly targeted visitors willing to explore your offer. Whether they buy your product/service depends on other things, but you will never know how good your sales page is until you get people visiting you!
Do you use Google Adwords? If so, then place the ads on a webpage, fill it with useful content, submit articles that link to your site and you will see an increase in Adwords revenue.
There are so many ways that you can use article writing to your benefit, but remember to offer some decent content to the reader. Please do not write a sales letter and submit it to the article directories as you will be wasting your time. Like any marketing activity, you will need to experiment. Sometimes you'll find that an article doesn't generate much interest, other days your site will be flooded with interested prospects. Experiment, experiment, experiment! Make sure you make a note of the articles and the response that they generate. In time, you will understand exactly what works, and what doesn't.
There are ways of automating your article submissions, but be careful as some software will spam the directories and insert links into the middle of your work! Personally, I recommend The Article Submitter as it has some amazing features. It will automatically enter your resource box etc and will not ruin your articles or spam the directories. You will save plenty of time with a small one time investment and you can concentrate on getting more articles ready to go.
