Businesses struggle daily trying to figure out the mystery behind how to succeed on the internet. Pay per click, directory listings, SEO, direct traffic programs, and then there is the thing just around the corner which you always hear is the next best way to drive traffic to your website. The funny thing is everyone already knows the answer of how to succeed on the internet and they are just failing to connect the dots from one world to the other.
It astonishes me how everyone makes so much more out of the internet then there really is. The internet is simply a mirrored image of our every day world built on technology instead of earth and water. There is nothing different about the internet then the real world if you remove all the technology behind it. People communicate on it, get entertained on it, research on it, socialize on it, debate on it and so on and so forth. Tell me something you can do on the internet and I can show you how you can do it in the real world.
Will it be slower? Maybe
Will it cost more? Maybe
But can you do it? Most certainly
Think about it.
You know everything there is to know about the internet, you have been living it your whole life. You are only intimidated by the technology that runs it.
So with that in mind, to understand internet advertising you only need to understand traditional advertising. Radio, TV, print and billboard advertising that business owners have been using their whole careers to drive their businesses have not gone away on the internet, they are still there, just driven by technology.
Funny thing is that a lot of these businesses have seen this advertising on the internet; they have just failed to connect the dots.
Ever been to a site that has had a banner on it? Ever read an article like this one that inspired you to click to a site to find out more? Ever seen an interesting video and passed the link onto a friend? Ever listened to a voice over while reading through the content? Ever clicked on a link?
You yourself, the business owner, use traditional advertising every day on the internet as in the consumer role.
Don’t you think it is time you started using it for your business?
Go with what you know. Go traditional and get results!

Unlike Google, which allows you to use sitemaps as a way to get your site
indexed and spidered, Yahoo uses several different approaches to indexing
content.
It can take a little while to get indexed, but if you are persistent, you'll see
your site indexed on Yahoo in no time.
First, you need to understand the different ways that Yahoo indexes content
because there are both free and paid versions.
However, since Yahoo no longer uses Google for its backend results, and Yahoo
Directory listings are now mixed with search results, paying $299 a year to get
included in the directory may not be the way you want to go....

Contemporary search engines use
software 'spiders' that go out into the internet, and retrieve content and data.
Armed with this retrieved data, search engine algorithms rank content based on
the relevance of what the user is searching for. It is the job of the webmaster
to
optimize a web site based on relevant keywords, so that search engine
algorithms list their URL as close to page one as possible. This is the practice
of Search Engine Optimization, determining how search engines think, and if
successful could lead to very lucrative returns....
